What a website redesign should cost in 2026

Redesign quotes for the same site routinely span $1,500 to $75,000. That spread isn't about your website — it's about the vendor's overhead. Here's how to read a quote.

Why quotes vary 50x for the same site

A redesign quote prices three things: the actual design-and-build work, the vendor's process around it, and the vendor's business model after it. The work itself — for a typical business site — is measured in days. Agencies add discovery workshops, stakeholder rounds, and project management (that's the $15–75K), and most vendors of every size add the annuity: hosting markups, maintenance retainers, and CMS licensing that quietly double the five-year cost. When you compare quotes, separate the three. You should pay well for the first, sparingly for the second, and ideally never for the third.

The questions that expose padding

Ask each bidder: What do I own when we're done? What's the all-in five-year number including every recurring fee? What happens if I stop paying you the month after launch? Can my team edit content without a ticket? A redesign that leaves you renting your own site hasn't fixed the expensive part.

What a fair redesign looks like

Our model: a finished remake of your homepage before any contract — free — so you judge the design standard first. Then a flat fee: $2,950 for most business sites, $7,500+ for large builds with galleries and admin tooling. Zero-downtime relaunch on your domain with email untouched, everything handed over, and $0/month hosting after — an architecture we proved on a national nonprofit relaunch that hasn't paid a hosting bill since.
